Slime Care
Why does my slime texture look a little different from your pictures and videos?
Did you know that slime can change based on the variables around it? It totally can! Slime is like an on-going science experiment that you get to be a part of...and have fun with at the same time!
Factors like shipping environment and temperature can alter the texture of slime as it makes its ways from us to you. Sunlight and age can also cause the texture of your slime to change. But don't let a little change discourage you! Slime texture can easily be fixed with things like activator.
Is there anything I should do before playing with my slime?
Yes! There are few things you should do before and while playing with your slime:
- Wash your hands before and after playing with slime.
- Play with your slime on a flat, solid surface. DO NOT play with slime on carpet or other textured fabric surfaces.
- Store your slime in a sealed container at room temperature and away from direct sunlight. This will help to keep your slime at its desired texture.
How can I fix my slime texture at home?
If you need to fix your slime, there's a few things you can do! Here is what we suggest...
If your slime is hard and/or rippy:
- Ask a grown-up to mircowave the slime for 10 to 15 seconds. Another thing you can do is to add small amounts of unscented lotion (for white-based slimes) or unscented clear hair gel (for clear slimes) until it becomes fluffy and smooth again.
If your slime is sticky:
- We've included an activator pen and small amount of baking soda for you to use. Slowly add small amounts of activator to your slime until you have reached the texture you desire. If you need a little more help, lightly dust your slime with some of the baking soda and mix it in well
Macrame
How do I clean my macrame products?
All of the macrame that you purchase from FlintFamCreates is handmade. Because of the nature of handmade products, we recommend that you hand wash and/or spot clean your macrame pieces. Air drying is the only recommended form of drying for your macrame pieces.
Pieces that include wooden rings, wooden dowels, driftwood or anything else made with a wooden accent should be spot cleaned only. We DO NOT recommend submerging the wooden accents in water.
How much weight can your plant holders support?
The amount of weight that the plant hangers can support is based entirely on the size of the plant hanger and the cord width used to make it. If you want to ask us specifically about a plant hanger that you have purchased, please contact us directly.
Jewelry
How do I clean my jewelry that I've purchased from FlintFamCreates?
Because all of our jewelry is currently handmade, we suggest that you spot clean your jewelry as needed.
